FIRST TIME HOOKUP INSTRUCTIONS (Follow this step only if filter being used in the housing)
1. Select where you want the Filter/Salt Dispenser and Softener to be placed.
2. The housing will go before the Softener.
**Leave space for the white hose between the housing and softener
3. Put the filter inside of the housing and screw head back on housing.
4. Install a garden hose from the spigot (source water) into the “IN” side of the housing.
5. Install the white garden hose to the “OUT” side of the housing and into the “IN” of the Softener.
6. Perform a short rinse for 7 to 9 minutes onto a rock bed or outside drain before attaching to your RV.
7. Hook the softener up to the point of application; RV or Tiny House for example.
8. The softener is ready to go for first-time use.

Regeneration of the Softener (Resin)
-The softener contains resin that softens the water. The resin will require regeneration with salt periodically.
-Frequency of regeneration is based on individual use and condition of the source water.
-Use the Total Hardness Test Strips to test the water after the softener (output).
-Regenerate when the test strip reads between 7 and 11 GPG (Grains Per Gallon) in red numbers on the back of the bottle.
1. Turn off the water supply.
2. Unscrew 10" X 2.5" housing.
3. Remove the filter (if being used with your unit)
4. Insert regeneration distribution tube in the housing with the basket down.
5. Place the special-distribution-tube-centering device on top of the distribution tube.
6. Pour in table salt or pellet salt. Iodized or non-iodized salt can be used.*Do not pour salt into the distribution tube; the centering device will act as a “cap” to prevent salt from entering the tube. The centering device will also help keep the tube in the center of the housing as salt is poured into the housing
Standard
A. Add 1 26 oz box of salt around the centering device. Remove the centering device, reassemble the housing onto the head (make sure the tube seats over the nipple), and turn on the water.
B. First slow rinse — pencil-thin stream for 12–15 minutes
C. Fast rinse — open to a full stream for 3–4 minutes (one time, at the end only).
Optional Special Regeneration: Fill the housing to the top with salt, rinse slowly for 25 minutes, and finish with a 6–8-minute fast rinse
Double Standard → Two-Stage Salt Fill (new kit, the updated housing holds one box at a time, so the salt is added in two fills during a single regeneration)
*Do not perform the fast rinse until both boxes have been rinsed through.
A. Add the first 26 oz box of salt around the centering device. Remove the centering device, reassemble
the housing onto the head (make sure the tube seats over the nipple), and turn on the water.
B. First slow rinse — pencil-thin stream for 12–15 minutes
C. Turn off the water. Unscrew the housing. Leave the distribution tube in place.
D. Re-set the centering device on the tube and add the second 26 oz box. Remove the centering device and
reassemble
E. Second slow rinse — turn the water back on, pencil-thin stream for another 12–15 minutes.
F. Fast rinse — open to a full stream for 6–8 minutes (one time, at the end only).
Optional Special Regeneration: Fill the housing to the top with salt, rinse slowly for 25 minutes, repeat, and fast rinse for 6-8 minutes.
7. When the regeneration process is complete, unscrew the head from the housing and remove the distribution tube. Thoroughly rinse out any remaining salt from the housing, the distribution tube, and from the bottom basket. If using a filter, insert the filter, and reassemble the housing.
8. If a filter is being used between regenerations, reattach the housing to the softener.
9. The softener is now producing soft water! (check at the output of the softener)
